Our History
Welcome to Paradise Cafe! Paradise Bagels is owned by Jackie Estes and has been a mainstay on the island for nearly two decades. We moved to Bradenton when my sister fell in love with Anna Maria Island. Finding no good bagels or lox, we opened a small coffee shop in 1994 with second-hand furniture and determination.
Jackie’s daughter, Cindy opened Thompson Academy and took culinary classes. We expanded by adding space from a neighboring dry cleaner, allowing us to offer dinners three nights a week, which our customers loved.
From 2000 to 2009, we served breakfast, lunch, and gourmet dinners with complimentary wine or beer.
Now, we focus on breakfast and lunch, celebrating 30 years and earning the People’s Choice award 27 times. Come taste the love in every meal!
